For songwriting, it is best if you have basic knowledge of music first (note names, note durations, chords).
From there, I will help you create your own songs, teaching you how to create melodies and harmonies, verses and choruses (lyrics and music), and how to make these "basic" components your own.

Hi! I'm Jon. I've been playing piano, studying and writing music for 19 years and have a B.A. in music composition. My background in music is in both classical music and progressive rock.
I have 2 solo instrumental albums, have written music for several freelance projects, and have had the opportunity to be coached by established musicians such as Jordan Rudess, Tom Brislin, and Adam Holzman.
Music has always been my passion above all else and I'm excited to share my love of music with people and help students become the musicians they aspire to be!
