- Teaching since:
I have been playing instruments and writing music for nearly 2 decades, having obtained a Master's degree in Music Composition. In that time, I have played and studied various genres and subgenres including rock, ska, electronic, classical, jazz, ambient, experimental, game and film soundtracks, and more. Currently, I teach music theory and survey of video game music at Western Washington University, as well as teaching and writing music for video games and classical ensembles.
This wide swath of experience has led me to develop a unique perspective and method for understanding and writing music. I promote and instill a diligent work ethic aimed toward mastery of music theory, an open and inquiring mind, open ears and an open heart, and most importantly a lasting love of music and the combined art and science of writing it.
