About Joëlla B.
I am a cellist currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in cello performance at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. I love working with people of all ages in teaching and coaching! I am excited to share my love of music with all by making my lessons engaging and interactive. My bicultural connection to France and the US has opened my window of possibilities in diversifying my teaching methods and engaging with children of different ages and nationalities. I have received a Diplôme d’Etudes Musicales from the Conservatoire of Bordeaux as well as from the Conservatoire of Saint Maur des Fossés.
My love of music and trying new and diverse musical genres has led me to play baroque cello, new music, fiddling and pop music. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and baking.
I believe that learning music at any age opens the mind to creativity and explores new ways of seeing the world. My lessons are focused on using technique to enhance musical artistry and the love of playing music. In my life, cello has been a way of expressing who I am to the world and I strive to share this passion with my students.
