Anything from counterpoint to cluster chords, we will cover it all. Music theory is a language. once you learn how to understand the language, then you can speak it. We will focus not only on theory but understanding its function in music.

I received my B.M. in Jazz Studies from Michigan State University in 2018 on guitar studying with one of the best Jazz faculties in the world. My main focus is in Jazz but more importantly the jazz mindset and perspective. This has allowed me to excel in any genre I play. I currently teach all styles of guitar and music theory including; Blues, Country, Jazz (Swing and bebop all the way to modern), funk, Soul, and many more. I am currently playing with A regional touring Country band, My own jazz group, and a pop variety cover band. I have many techniques for learning songs quickly and accurately by ear or notation.

John Peters is a great instructor, I have worked with him for a long time. He was my first instructor and I started knowing nothing about guitar and now I feel pretty confident and have continued lessons with him and now I’m learning about jazz and blues.
