Before entering Baylor University as a music major, I won numerous awards in piano, voice and trumpet. At Baylor, I majored in voice and studied with Richard Robinson, opera star on the west coast and was Stravinsky's favorite tenor. I also studied piano with Dr. Michael Ard where I learned the world renowned "Taubman Approach" to playing the piano. I studied conducting with Michael Haithcock (currently director of bands at University of Michigan) and Dr. Hugh Sanders (past president of the American Directors Choral Association). I was also a member of the Baylor University Golden Wave Band for 4 years and studied trumpet. I studied organ with Dr. Joyce Jones.
Before coming to California to pursue my Masters in Music, I taught Junior High School choir in Texas for three years. I have over 30 years of professional music experience and have taught and directed numerous choirs and orchestras in California and Minnesota. I am available to teach piano, voice, trumpet and organ.
