Saxophone with John L.

Hi there, I am a creator, performer, and teacher working out of Richmond, Virginia. My main instruments are saxophone, guitar, and ukulele, but I also play clarinet, flute, piano, and harmonica. Curious about music from a very young age, I didn’t pick up the saxophone until I was 11 years old. I began playing paid gigs in high school and from there attended George Mason University to earn a Bachelor’s of Music degree with a focus in Jazz Studies. During my time at school, I also studied jazz guitar and experimented with writing original music. Through hard work and a little luck, I have had the pleasure of performing everywhere from basements to bars and at venues such as the Hylton Performing Arts Center, Songybrd Music House, Twins Jazz Club, Blues Alley, and The Kennedy Center.
