ESL is a matter of sharing life lessons. Students already possess their own special talents and are full of life experiences from their L1 learnings. I will teach English as an L2 tool by sharing my life experiences, thereby making your life that much richer in language. In this day and age with texting and digital communication, the "Art of Communication" has been lost. My desire is to enthusiastically share my experiences in this lost art. Coming out of my lessons, students will have the confidence in their ability to express themselves comfortably within the American culture.

Teaching since:

Hi, my name is John Kim, and I am an experienced native American English teacher. I am a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel with American diplomatic certifications in Japan and Korea. I have taught myself to be proficient in 5 languages. I taught Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced TOEFL English levels formally in school classrooms of 10-17 students. And of course, 1-on-1 private lessons also. You know that the four dreaded skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking are required in English schools, and you have already heard it over and over in your previous school lessons. Now, let me show you and share with you a different level of learning...called the "Art of Communication".
