Hello, my name is John, and I love the guitar! I've had one in my hands for decades now, and have done hundreds of live gigs, along with countless studio recording sessions. I want to help share the beauty of guitar music with you, and help light up your musical soul. I love kids and adults alike, and am very patient with anyone wanting to learn this fabulous instrument. My teaching style is zero pressure, so a student is comfortable and relaxed, and ready to make some music.

John Krauss has been teaching our 4th grade boy acoustic guitar for the past year. When he started, our son could not clap a rhythm to save his life but now is learning to strum on beat and follow along with lessons successfully. John challenges our 9 year old with different styles and techniques that push him to the next level. He encourages our child in a warm and respectful way. We appreciate John's professionalism and patience with working with a young student. We highly recommend him. "John is a nice guy who helps me learn new chords and licks. I like my lessons!" says the 4th grader.

I thought trying to learn to play the guitar at the age of 35 with no musical background, with kids and a full time job was a daunting task. That was until I met John. I have had 30 minute lessons with John for the past year and a half. There was a steep learning curve for me in the beginning, but John remained very patient and encouraging. His knowledge of music and his ability to explain and teach in a way that I could understand is second to none! I can now play a couple dozen songs and have a great foundation of skills to play many many more! I recommend John to anyone of all ages who wish to learn how to play the guitar.

We are very happy that our son takes guitar lessons with John Krauss. John is a very skilled and versatile guitar teacher. He was adept at discovering my son's specific interests and learning style(s) and has tailored his lessons accordingly. My son enjoys, and looks forward to his lessons. John brings a lot of experience as a musician to his teaching. For much of his life he has performed on stage as a Rock and Jazz guitarist. In addition to teaching music, John Krauss is an award winning sound engineer. He has recorded musical ensembles and soloists, as well as, audio books by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Senator Fred Thompson, and other well known authors, speakers, and public figures.
