     As a graduate in Music Therapy from Eastern Michigan University (EMU), I am eager to help you accomplish your full potential in learning to play the piano or guitar (or both). 
      Whether your desire is to begin learning or to improve your technique, prepare for an audition, open your child up to the wonderful world of music, for church worship, or simply impress your friends, my goal is to help bring out your best. 
   I use a variety of technique and capitalize on student strength, bringing together all the elements of music (pitch, timbre, rhythm, emotion) to help you produce the most satisfying music to play and listen to. 
     Songwriting and Composition and an integral part of music and will be encouraged!
       Classes can be given in English or Spanish/Español.

Hi everyone!
My name is John Michael and I am 33 years old.  I've been playing piano for 27 years and guitar for 16 years.  I am a board-certified music therapist and an avid songwriter.  I believe that ANYONE can learn to play an instrument and you are NEVER too old to learn!  I have taught children as young as 5 and adults in their 70's. I've taught children with Autism and adults with Alzheimer's. Music is truly and fascinating and uniquely human element that is meant to bring people together and express what cannot be expressed in words!  My goal to help you achieve your maximum potential and empower you to keep learning on your own.  Thank you for your interest in learning music!  Never give up!
