My passion for music and equal passion for education fuels my energetic approach to music lessons! My curriculum is uniquely catered to each individual student, be it a 5-year old piano student or a 45-year old drum student. I have a hands-on, application-based style to all of my teaching, emphasizing the most important things you need to know to be able to go out and perform on your instrument!

To supplement my pursuit of a Masters Degree in Jazz Study from Michigan State University, I am the Graduate Assistant for the jazz drum set professor, Randy Gelispie.
I have worked full-time as the owner and primary teacher for "In-House Music Lessons," a mobile studio for K-12 students on drums, piano, guitar, and bass.
I student taught for my last semester of my Undergraduate Degree under both the band director at Shortridge Magnet High School in Indianapolis, and the general music teacher at Mary Nicholson Elementary School in Indianapolis.
I oversaw and directed the musical performances and education of a K-8 summer music camp in Indianapolis.
John is really good at laying out the fundamentals, and elaborating enough to where even the newest of beginners will understand. He's not a grouchy instructor, so anything he feels you don't quite pick up on will be practice material. Quiet learning atmosphere which is really important.
