Bass Guitar with John C.

Hey guys, my name is John C., and have been playing bass guitar for ten years. I attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois and graduated with a B.A. in Music, Summa Cum Laude. I have played in rock bands, ska bands, and in several jazz combos. During my musical career I have had a number of outstanding instructors that have made me realize the value of patience in teaching music. Accordingly, I am eager to work with students of all skill levels and experiences and seek to provide an individualized and high quality music making experience.  *** Lesson Details *** As an instructor, I am very focused on providing lessons that are tailored to an individual student's abilities and goals. I like to emphasize proper technique, but not just for the sake of technique. I try to always put exercises in a musical context so that it is still going to be engaging, exciting, and never dull. My education has taught me the value of a strong theoretical background, so students can also expect to learn a fair amount about music theory. This aids in performance, memorization, and overall musical understanding.
