I teach jazz, rock, and beginning classical piano, with and emphasis on performance, theory, and songwriting.

I am a graduate of the Cal Poly Pomona music department looking forward to sharing my passion and knowledge with people who want to express themselves with music!

I use the John Thompson Piano book series to build understanding of written music, theory, and artistic expression. In addition to teaching classical techniques, I help guide my students on the path to writing their own music!

During my time in university I played piano with the Kellogg Soul Ensemble and the Jazz Combo. I also sang extensively with the university concert choir. 

I currently play gigs with a jazz trio and a funk-rock band. I also play keyboard on recordings for local pop and hip-hop artists, and assist with arrangements and choir direction.

He was very patient with my son. My son has had trouble with other instructors, but he made it fun and got him interested.

A really Thorough instructor even for 30 min! I highly recommend him! And he had a positive attitude. Can’t wait until the next lesson!

This was my granddaughters first lesson. I believe John did a wonderful job. We are looking forward to seeing him in a week. My granddaughter is still excited.
