Hello! My name is John B. I can't wait to meet you and introduce you to the wonderful world of music! I have been involved with music since my teen years. I have had a lot of fun in my life playing various musical instruments in school bands, local and regional talent shows and festivals. I am a founding member of a Charlotte based popular local Cajun Band - "Carolina Gator Gumbo" and performed on stage for 12 years. I appeared on CBS Nationwide Network and local TV, Radio, and done multiple studio recordings. I have performed in Bluegrass and Old Time Bands as well as Swing/Jazz Bands. I would love to introduce you to music so you can begin to have fun too - whether playing for your own pleasure, with your friends - or as a career. I hope to hear from you soon so we can discuss your goals. I've been teaching private lessons part time off and on since 1971. My passion is to help my students read music and to play guitar, dobro or mandolin as well as other instruments. I earned an AFA in Music from Central Piedmont Community College. I'm a patient and flexible person and my teaching style is coaching and encouraging and fun! I use various methods of teaching in my one on one lessons including books, handouts, internet sources, and smart phone technology and apps. I do my best to tailor lessons to suit your individual needs. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
