He has been invited as a guest teacher at Teachers College, Columbia and McGill Universities and is currently on staff at Alexander Technique Workshops International’s UNCSA workshop (formerly known as Sweet Briar). His writings have been featured on the American Center for the Alexander Technique’s website. In addition to his Alexander practice, Mr. A is an accomplished violist and violinist. He has been a member of the Asheville Symphony, Winston-Salem Symphony, Hilton-Head Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle, The Orchestra of St. Andrew’s Bay, and Panama City Pops Orchestra, as well as countless pick-up orchestras and chamber groups. In addition to his classical roots he has recorded and performed live with folk, contemporary jazz, and rap groups such Deltron 3030, Tarbaby, and Holly McCormack. He is currently on faculty as violin and viola instructor at the Williamsburg Music Studio as well as maintaining a private teaching practice in Manhattan. Mr. A served as the University of North Carolina School of the Arts’ viola studio teaching assistant while pursuing his undergraduate degree at there. He has been a coach at the Winter Harbor Music Festival and for the North Carolina All-State viola section. He has also taught on faculty at the Louisiana State University Music Academy and Separk Music in Winston-Salem, NC.
