Hi my names Joel, I have been playing musical instruments since I was in the 6th grade. I'm coming up on my 11th year of playing. I started off with Clarinet, and I'm now in the Metal scene going around and gigging with some of the most talented musicians in the scene. I've played multiple festivals and hundreds of shows, but don't let my enthusiasm for guitar discourage you from taking lessons with me for other instruments! I'm classically trained in over 10 different instruments; Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon, Tenor Sax, Upright Bass, Electric Bass, Jazz Bass, Acoustic Guitar, Classical Guitar, and of course Electric Guitar; And any and all variations of those instruments; For example All types of Clarinets and all types of saxophones.
My education in music started in 6th grade on clarinet. When I got to high school I started taking a bunch of music classes. I was taking Marching band/concert band, Jazz band, and Orchestra all throughout my high school years, where our school was a consistent top competitor and finalist throughout the state of California.
*** Lesson Details ***
I have a very old school approach to teaching music. I believe that any student can become a master in their instrument of choice as long as they take the time to master the Basics. I'm a very laid back teacher, and I'm very easy to approach and talk to. I try to build my lessons around your personal likes/dislikes. I take the time to learn material for each individual student, that way students get a feeling of importance, and don't end up feeling like they are just taking text book lessons from an impersonal teacher.
*** Specialties ***
I play everything from Classical piano/guitar, to jazz bass, to Djent Death metal. I literally play everything, and i love all types of music. I do how ever specialize in rock and roll, punk, and metal.
I provided knowledge of instruments and lesson plans to customers. I helped access technical problems with both instrument and the students playing habits.
Joel is VERY patient with children that have anxiety to new experiences. He is an honest, funny guy who I can tell grew up in a family who had values and integrity. He was flexible with the schedule and, of course, extremely competent.
