Learn the songs you love and the tools to make your own. 

I spend a lot of time thinking about how music works. I think people have natural excitement and curiosity about this subject. I love to share what I've learned in a friendly, casual style that simplifies music theory and encourages students to see their potential. 

My teaching style focuses on the songs you want to learn. I help you learn the chords, offering transcriptions in tablature if needed. Then we use your favorite songs as a study guide to understand the theory behind why they work so you can have a more intuitive understanding of your instrument. All ages and experience levels are welcome, and I'm happy to travel to you. 

Nothing has enriched my life more than music, so I'm very passionate about sharing that gift with others. I hope we get a chance to learn together!

The guitar is an incredibly expressive instrument and a great bridge to music understanding. I believe strongly that we all have the ability to learn and understand music theory just like language, so my teaching style is based on uncovering talents that are already there waiting to be discovered. I focus on your questions and interests—starting with the songs you want to learn as a springboard for learning the patterns that make music work.

One of my biggest priorities is helping you feel confident and comfortable as we learn new concepts together, so my style is always friendly, casual, and centered around you. I hope we get the opportunity to learn together!

Joe has been teaching me Spanish and Guitar for the past two years, and I have nothing but good things to say. Music theory has always intimidated me, but he makes it approachable and fun.
