My name is Joe and I am a professional guitar instructor. I started playing when I was 12 and I've never seen myself doing anything else besides music since I picked it up. I grew up in Mississippi and took private lessons from an amazing blues guitarist named, Randy Bowles for about 2 years. Because I knew I wanted to be involved with music full time, I moved out of my small town to Orlando, FL where I went to college and graduated with an A.S. in Recording Arts and a B.S. in Music Business. I started teaching group guitar classes right before I graduated and fell in love with teaching. I've always loved sharing things with others, but sharing my greatest passion and seeing them feel the way I did when I finally learned a riff or a song, was a feeling I'd never felt before. I started picking up some private lessons and studying education. I worked my way up in just 3 years to supervisor. I've been the supervisor for the after school guitar and piano program called Next Step Educators for 4 years. We are currently in 25 schools in Orange County and enroll over 500 kids a year. While supervising so many classes and teachers, I've had a chance to observe some really great teachers and learn a ton. Since school, I've played for, been a part of, recorded, and produced some really amazing bands. Having the knowledge to record and mix music opens up so many opportunities for my lessons as well. . Music and teaching are two of my passions and I absolutely love introducing an instrument to my students. I'm currently trying to fill my schedule with more private lessons, so I'm looking for someone willing to learn and practice. Private lessons are a bit more expensive than group lessons but yield the best results. I can drive to you or you can meet at my studio. You won't find anyone more excited to teach music than myself.
