Joe Herrera is a Professional Actor, Acting Instructor, Acting Coach, Director, Producer and Writer. He holds his M.A. in Theatre from Regent University, and is a graduate from the National Michael Chekhov Association; recognized as a Certified Acting Teacher of the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique, through the National Michael Chekhov Association (NMCA). He is a Member & Recognized Michael Chekhov Instructor of the Michael Chekhov Association (MICHA). He served as Founder & Acting Instructor of the Michael Chekhov Studio Florida, where he provided professional training for actors, directors and teachers.
As an actor, he is a proud member of Actors Equity Association (AEA), since 1994. He has professional experience in theatre, film/TV, and various media venues. He has worked on numerous award winning films; he recently worked with actor Lily Collins, Chace Crawford, and Simon Pegg no upcoming feature film Inheritance. He also worked with Kevin Sorbo on Christmas movie, "Let There Be Light" in 2017.
As an acting instructor he is a physical theatre and movement specialist, teaching various psycho-physical techniques such as: Michael Chekhov, Laban Movement Analysis, Alba Emoting Method, Rasaboxes, and various body-mind connection pedagogies. He also teaches scene study using a fusion of Chekhov with Robert Cohen's G.O.T.E. method, Shakespeare, monologue work, auditioning for the actor for theatre and film, and acting for Film/TV.
Joe also has production experience in directing, producing, casting, stage composition, and production coaching (acting/scene work/characterization).
