Hello! Thanks for checking out my page. I've been playing guitar for over a decade and mandolin for about four years. I studied jazz with the Applied Musicians Program at Mesa College, which has changed my view on playing music across all instruments and styles. I've been playing other genres for a lot longer though! I can teach you pop, bluegrass, folk, rock, and more. Let me know what your short or long term goals are and we will get there by learning repertoire of your choice that is appropriate for the skill level we are working on. If there is a time that works best for you that isn't listed let me know! Feel free to contact me and ask any questions you may have!
Over a decade of playing experience, and 5+ years of teaching experience.
First lesson, and loved it. I am being forced to think. Now we'll see how well I can practice on my own.
Joe is the most knowledgable & relatable instructor I've ever had the experience of learning from.
Joe's knowledge of guitar is expert and spans a wide variety of genres. It's rare to find a guitarist who considers phrasing and dynamics while playing, but Joe does exactly this, breathing life into all his licks with mindful control over volume and articulation. I've learned a lot about Blues chord progressions, and I'm sure a guitarist of any genre will learn a lot from him. Highly recommended.+ Read More
A good teacher, well organized and structured lessons.
Joe was a great teacher! I had no experience with the mandolin and he was really helpful with explaining concepts and tailored the lessons for my personal goals and music preferences. Great experience overall, I highly recommend taking lessons with Joe!
Joe is such a patient and great teacher. He takes his time to explain everything to my child. She has had 0 musical experience. He is on time and polite. Very good with children. He also happens to be extremely talented. Thanks for all you do Joe
