Learn the piano — a rewarding and relaxing instrument.

My love for the piano started at the age of thirteen. I majored in Music Education at Frostburg State University, and studied piano under various professors. I have eleven years experience in teaching children and adults the piano. I hope to convey a love of music during lessons. Playing the piano shouldn't be stressful. It should be rewarding, relaxing, and fun.

About Jocelyn H.

4.9
(10)
I received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Frostburg State University. The piano was my main instrument of study. I have taught piano lessons to people of various ages. I believe that anyone can learn how to play the piano. Music is an experience that can help boost one's self-esteem. It can bring healing and peace. *** Lesson Details *** People consider me a patient and "laid back" piano teacher. I understand the challenges of learning how to play the piano. Students are free to ask questions. To get the best out of a lesson, practice is a must. Method books are used throughout the lesson, and students are encouraged to practice whatever they learn during the lesson. Students will learn songs and exercises according to their level. I hope to promote a peaceful and calm musical experience for every student. *** Travel Equipment *** Students are encouraged to have their own piano or keyboard. *** Specialties *** I generally use an age appropriate method book for each student. The main method I like to use is the Alfred's Basic Piano Library. I also add supplemental music, or music of interest as the student progresses.
