Guitar with Joanna B.

Hi! My name is Joanna (I also go by Jojo). I am based between Europe and USA. I am a classical guitarist and a fashion model. I have studied classical guitar in Roosevelt University with Denis Azabagic and have been taught in many masterclasses by great musicians such as Sergio Assad. After my studies, I have developed a great interest in exploring the world outside of classical guitar and picked up other genres as well as other types of guitars. I have written various instrumentals and I have been experimenting with different tunings on the guitar. I was previously a member of a jam band and I'm currently working on various projects with other musicians. One of the things that I remember during my time in conservatory was how many students felt lost, especially after graduating. In a way, I have experienced something like this myself. Often times, many very well trained musicians with a ton of knowledge end up feeling disconnect with themselves. Despite being able to play pieces beautifully, they sometimes don't have the confidence to improvise or write something of their own. After getting over that kind of a barrier myself, I felt very inspired to start teaching. One of my biggest goals is to teach students in a way where they will be able to play well, but also write their own songs and feel comfortable exploring if they want to. :)
