Get better at playing the saxophone from lessons delivered by an experienced saxophonist.

Not only do I know how to play all instruments in the clarinet family, but I repaired them for 21 years, so I know the technical side of how the instrument really works, and can quickly diagnose whether an issue is with the player or with the instrument. This is something I am passionate about - having a properly working instrument. I can even offer discounted repairs if the student is within shipping or driving range. Besides that, I believe making music should be fun! I will choose much of the music with the student so not only is the fun factor going to be high, but the learning factor will be high as well. We will set goals periodically, and as they are met set new ones.

My name is JJ and I love music! Music is not only what got me through the tough Jr High and High School years, it also got me through college and paved the way for all of my career moves ever since. Whether it was repairing instruments, teaching others how to repair instruments, or leading a worship band at church, music has always been there for me, and I want to share my passion for music with you! I've played several styles of music, including symphonic bands, symphonic orchestras, pit orchestras, quartets, worship bands, solo with piano accompaniment, or just me and a guitar. I can play all of the clarinets and saxophones, flute, baritone horn, acoustic guitar, and bass guitar, as well as sing. All of them come with their own challenges and rewards, whether you are just getting started for the first time, you've been playing for a couple years, or your instrument has been in the closet for 30 years and you want to pick it back up again, I can help you on your way!
