I am currently a graduate student of Music Composition in Azusa, California, holding a triple-bachelor's degree in Applied Piano, Music Theory/Composition, and Music Education, with an Idaho teaching certification in K-12 music, and over 15 years of private teaching experience.
I take an adaptable and student-centered, goal-oriented teaching approach for piano, drums, percussion, guitar, music theory, composition and other subjects.
My experience with drum set is not limited to rock, punk, metal, jazz, latin, worship, and contemporary styles. I offer studies on various hand techniques as well as pedal techniques, particularly "heel-toe." I also teach mallets.
As for guitar, my experience has focused mostly on classical, folk, and rock/metal/prog (rhythm). Beginning and intermediate students starting jazz will still find these lessons very helpful, as I am also a jazz pianist. As a composer, I have written many challenging pieces of music for guitar and other ensembles.
