I have the patience and the enthusiasm to get you motivated if you bring the commitment. My studio is in a safe, family-friendly home & smoke-free environment and sessions will be comfortable, yet challenging. Knowing from experience how "boring" it can be to learn solely from books, I combine technical work with fun time playing duets together, improvising, and exploring a wide variety of styles and genres of music. Students will learn all the basics of drumming, and also spend time developing strong ensemble skills and strong background knowledge of style and repertoire. I make a special effort to invest in each student’s particular needs, utilizing a variety of tools such as supplemental workbooks, ear training, sight reading, note spelling, etc. as necessary.Each lesson will conclude with an assignments to work on throughout the week.Music theory sheets and technique exercises will also be included in the assignments. I do strive for excellence and believe every student should work to be the best they can possibly be, while having fun doing so! *** Studio Equipment *** Music studio w/ 2 drum sets, various percussion equipment, and seating for parents *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide Drum pad if needed. If student is learning drum set they need to supply it if lesson is in their home. *** Specialties *** I have played and recorded with John Mellencamp,Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin,Gladys Knight ect.. to name a few and have many years of studying,researching and teaching in many modern and specific styles. Also spent many year Traveling thru Africa,Brazil,Cuba,Haiti,New Orleans and the Caribbean and studying different idioms and have REALLY knowledge of these disciplines.
