Trumpet with Jim T.

Jim T. earned Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Education and composition from the University of Michigan in 2001 and 2008. He taught high school and elementary school band, jazz band, glee club, beginning music theory, and AP/IB music theory at Detroit Country Day School 2002-2014. Jim Has worked as a freelance Music Director for educational, community, and professional theatre productions since 2002 (70+ shows) while also freelancing as a french horn player and rock pianist. He worked as a church choir director 2004-2010. An active composer, Jim has published several works for band and small ensembles and his original musical, "Justice in Dusty Junction" will be available through Eldridge publishing (Fall 2014). With a blend of humor, patience, insistence on excellence, deep musical understanding, and a methodical approach, Mr. T. enjoys helping beginning through adult students "level up" and find their musical spark.
