I have been performing and teaching guitar for over 30 years.
I have taught for UT's Informal Class program, the Eanes Community School District, Concordia Lutheran University, and Redeemer Lutheran Church.
I currently teach privately in my home studio and through the Austin Community College.
I have studied guitar with musicians in the Austin area, the University of Texas as well as in Europe.
*** Lesson Details ***
I teach in a relaxed and casual manner, reflecting my own personality. Many, if not most of my private students are starting out as an avocation and often have some apprehension in undertaking this endeavor.
The basic core curriculum are any one of the three method books that I have written. In addition to use my extensive library to supplement my own books.
Typically how much students learn varies with each person. The greatest factor is the amount of time a student give to practicing, This also varies considerably due to other demands and commitments each has in his or her life..
*** Studio Equipment ***
The lessons take place in a separate music room which includes guitars, amps, 2 music stands. 1 cat in home which can be kept separate if needed.
*** Specialties ***
Guitar, in general.
I've written three books (all self-published):
" Method for Popular Guitar Class"
"Method for Classical Guitar"
"Music Theory for the Guitarist"
