Teaching since:

Jill was inspired at a young age by her mother and grandmother in both art & music and spent much time playing cello and guitar. She continued her music studies at the New England Conservatory, University of the Pacific, San Francisco and San Jose State, where she received her B.M in Cello Performance in 2002.

Her primary teachers include Susan Miller, Millie Rosner, Irene Sharp and Jean-Michel Fonteneau. She has attended masterclasses with Mario Brunello, Tanya Tomkins, Enrico Bronzi, Raphael Walfisch, Bonnie Hampton and participated in festivals and workshops such as the New Directions Cello Festival, the San Francisco World Music Festival, Moab Music Festival and the Cello Classics Course in Tereglio, Italy.

In 2006, Jill was the recipient of the Suzuki Teacher Training Scholarship awarded by the American Suzuki Institute and attended the International Suzuki Conference in Torino, Italy. Jill continues to be inspired by the philosophy and pedagogical ideas of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki as well as teachers from various traditions. Over the past 12 years, Jill has taught students from 4 to 65 yrs. old. She especially loves playing unaccompanied works for cello, creating multimedia performances and traveling.
