Studying music theory was essential in my development as a musician and music student. From a young age I began to read music in multiple clefs, part writing, arrangement, and chord structure. These fundamentals, along with the more advanced work done in college have expanded my vision as a musician from simply playing the pieces correctly. Take a few lessons, learn about music from a different angle.

I joined the school orchestra in 3rd grade after begging my parents for weeks. They already knew I had a great ear and a creative spirit. We didn't have much so private lessons were not an option for me until well into high school. It was in my junior year that I was able to attend the Crane Youth program at Potsdam University in New York where I was inspired to teach and go to college for music. But it has been a rough road; multiple surgeries and moves have caused my education to lapse and I am not where I want to be in life. And where I want to be is teaching a solid private lesson schedule with years of experience and more higher education. I don't give up on myself, and I won't give up on any student who expresses the desire to learn music in any capacity.

I needed some assistance with my Music Theory homework while I was in school and Jessyi was able to help me understand the material and exceed my own expectations.  I got an A that semester and gained the confidence to work on my own and graduated with a 3.6 overall, thanks to Jessyi's help with the theory classes.  She has a firm understanding of the material, but conveyed it in a way that was not only comprehensible, but fun!  I highly recommend her for Music Theory help, but she's also a great violinist.

Jessyi  is patient,  helpful and deeply informed about a wide variety of instruments and music theory /knowledge.  Working with her was both a personal pleasure as well as a great assistance to my growth as a musician.
