I hold a Masters of Music in Violin Pedagogy from Boise State University. I have been playing the violin for eighteen years. I have performed in a variety of ensembles from 180-person full orchestra and chorus in Eisenstadt, Austria, to a string quartet in a Beatles tribute band. I have been teaching private lessons for about eight years, mostly to beginning and intermediate level students. *** Lesson Details *** I teach primarily from the Suzuki violin method with some additional resources to create a well-rounded knowledge of the violin. In addition to learning to play certain pieces on the violin students will develop various basic music skills and techniques, such as a theory and history of music. The main goal of my teaching, however, is to instill a love of music and the arts in each and every student I teach. *** Studio Equipment *** My home studio is equipped with a piano, music stand, music theory and ear training games, as well as a vast library of method books and supplemental materials. *** Travel Equipment *** I provide lesson plans and some technology. I expect students to have their own instruments and cleaning materials, as well as the appropriate music. Occasionally we will need access to a piano. If there is no piano at the student's home we will need to meet at a location to practice with one. *** Specialties *** I specialize in the Suzuki violin method.

Very knowledgeable and patient. I am learning violin for the first time, and she takes the time to help with proper posture and positioning and technique.

Very patient and professional Jessie is very patient, professional, flexible. I'm a college student and busy with school work, but I still learned a lot from her, not only in violin skills, but also music theory and so on. She also teaches me how to practice instead of just showing me the pieces.

Jessie was my daughter's violin teacher My daughter had Jessie as her second violin teacher and we loved her. With her first teacher, she had lost her love to play just for fun, being concerned too much about skill and perfection, but Jessie understood her needs, therefore was able to help her, and my daughter regained her confidence and started enjoying playing again.
