Hi! I'm Jessie, and I'm a freelance singer and teacher in the Los Angeles area. I earned a Masters degree in Voice from the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati, and my Bachelors degree in Opera Performance from CSU Long Beach (Go Beach!)
I have been teaching beginning-advanced voice and beginning-intermediate piano for the past three years now, and I absolutely love helping my students achieve their musical goals! Although I specialize in opera and classical vocal technique, I enjoy and teach a variety of genres of music, and encourage a healthy technique with minimal tension.
Currently I'm a full-time member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, where I perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. I'm a session singer for movies and TV here in LA, and I have also sung with the Chicago Symphony Chorus, Music of the Baroque, and Cincinnati Opera. I teach private lessons in the Los Angeles area, and am available to teach both piano and voice, no matter your experience level! My approach is to focus on healthy, easy singing and/or playing. Correct posture, breath, and technique are fundamentals of a healthy instrument. I also have experience with the Alexander Technique, and incorporate its many benefits into my teaching. I am comfortable teaching various styles; whether it's pop, rock, classical, or musical theater, I would love to help you achieve your singing and piano playing goals! Please feel free to contact me with any questions, and I will happily answer them!
