    About Jessica S.

    Clarinetist Jessica S. is on a mission: to connect communities through music and the experience of live performance. Through regularly performing with the ensemble she has co-founded, Chicago Symphonic Winds, Jessica has been actively engaged in educational outreach and promoting wind music. She has also been a competition winner and featured artist with numerous organizations, including but not limited to, the Musicians Club of Women (awarded the Jerome and Elaine Nerenburg Scholarship), the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, Rowan University’s Symphonic Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, and the National Society of Arts and Letters. Jessica’s primary instructors include Stephen Williamson, Rié Suzuki, and Larry Combs. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was awarded the W. Clark Pfleeger Medallion for Musical Excellence with her Bachelors Degree in Performance from Rowan University, and recently completed her Master’s degree from DePaul University.

    The International Clarinet Association is a community of clarinetists and clarinet enthusiasts that supports projects that will benefit clarinet performance; provides opportunities for the exchange of ideas, materials, and information among its members; fosters the composition, publication, recording, and distribution of music for the clarinet; encourages the research and manufacture of a more definitive clarinet; avoids commercialism in any form while encouraging communication and cooperation among clarinetists and the music industry; and encourages and promotes the performance and teaching of a wide variety of repertoire for the clarinet.
