I am a professional artist, writer, scholar, and professor. I graduated from Tyler School of Art in Painting and Art History and University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Arts in Painting. I also hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy, Art Theory, and Aesthetics from Institute for Doctoral in the Visual Arts.
I am now working on a graphic novel and animated short film (writing, animating, producing, and creating original music). Both explore philosophical, anthropological, and art historical themes.
My students can expect to improve week to week in their artistic technique. Every artist is unique; I teach students to let go and begin to really see the world around them and inside of them. We apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual vision. I can help any student draw with freedom, confidence, and expression. I teach art to students of all different ages and experience levels.
I studied painting, art history, philosophy, and theory. I have taught all arts, design, and humanities courses to children, high school, college, and graduate school.
I can teach students to draw, paint, write, and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play draw realistically or in an abstract manner, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.
I love to mentor students who want to become effective, dynamic visionaries. My personal passion is contemporary art but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better artist!
