Hi there, my name is Jesse. For eleven years, I have been tutoring students and helping them to write essays as well as understand topics in history, literature, and the social sciences.
My first tutoring experience took place as an undergraduate, when I was asked by one of my professors to serve as his preceptor for the fall semester. In this capacity, I worked with freshmen and sophomore students on their outlines for upcoming papers, and even taught one class in the Professor's absence.
Later, I was hired by a local community college to work as a tutor in the school's Learning Center. I worked with students of all ages and many backgrounds on assignments in English, history, philosophy, economics, computers, and health.
Currently, I work as an online tutor for tutor.com, helping students from across the country with assignments in English, social studies, and essay writing.
I received my bachelor's degree from Franklin & Marshall College, where I majored in Anthropology and minored in English. Later, I went to American University and earned a master's degree in International Affairs in 2013 with a 3.59 GPA. I'm a patient and professional person and my teaching style is flexible, understanding, and insightful. I look forward to helping you reach your goals.

Jesse was an incredibly helpful writing coach for my cover letter to various jobs I applied to. My ideas were pretty scattered when I pushed out my first draft. Jesse was able to identify my strongest ideas and help me tie them all together in a way that still sounded like my own writing voice. His clear and pointed eye and ear for language were a huge help. Now I'm happy to send out my cover letter to prospective employers. Thanks Jesse!+ Read More
Though I worked with many fine tutors during my eight years in The Learning Center at Mercer County Community College, Jesse Berman will remain the one I most appreciated as a colleague. Working at TLC is not for the faint of heart; it tends to be full of students, young, middle-aged and old (and many of them international) who are anxious about writing papers that earn them passing grades. Jesse’s non-judgmental, easy-going manner put students at ease. He was effective at showing students how to interpret their professor's instructions and how to get their assignments done. He very nicely managed to let students know he was not there to rewrite their papers, but to consult with them and to guide them as they did the assigned work. Jesse is intelligent, thoughtful and good-natured –- qualities he showed to students, to colleagues and to center supervisors.+ Read More
