Being taught by multiple teachers that ranged from multiple techniques lead to my early years of music to be a mess. I was taught anywhere from rote learning to fixed solfege. These methods truly proved worthless because as an individual I learned different as we all do from one another. I was never individualized and this motivated me to really search and understand how I specifically learn best. Once I began teaching, I have never reused a lesson plan, instead I individualize and within a few lesson learn how they best process and learn themselves whether it be Visual, Motor, Aural, or Kinesthetic learning. Once I've established their learning patterns I discuss his or her goals and aspirations and set a goal. This type of teaching is very rare and I've had to endure years of looking for a teacher to not only teach me but to also mentor and show me this process of teaching.
