    About Jeremy S.

Jeremy Sheehan began his study of the classical guitar with David Stevenson at Brevard College in North Carolina in 1991. He was admitted to the University of North Carolina at Asheville where he studied jazz guitar with Tim Haden and received his Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies. Jeremy returned to studying classical guitar with Mark Maxwell in Chicago, Illinois then continued his studies at Northwestern University with Anne Waller where he earned his Master of Music degree in classical guitar performance. He has participated in master classes conducted by artists such as Oscar Ghiglia, Eliot Fisk, the Beijing Duo, and Christopher Berg. He has performed in many concerts and recitals both solo and in chamber ensembles as well as recording and releasing the album “Leebo's Kitchen” with the band 3 Too Far that he formed shortly after moving to Chicago. Though he has been teaching private guitar lessons since 1992, Jeremy began studying and teaching the Suzuki method in the summer 2010. His Suzuki teacher training has been with MaryLou Roberts. He has also received training and taught Musikgarten, an early childhood music curriculum. Jeremy has taught for the Music Institute of Chicago, DePaul University's Community Music Division and the Chicago Waldorf School. Other places Jeremy has taught include the Fox River Academy of Music and Art, Brevard College, and Pisgah Academy. Jeremy's return to western North Carolina was prompted by a desire to build a teaching studio in the mountains that he has loved since his childhood.
