Algebra with Jeremy L.

I started taking guitar lessons 9 years ago and have been in love with the instrument ever since. My musical interests range from classic rock, to bluegrass, klezmer to classical. In addition to pure music, I also studied classics and ancient poetry at Columbia University, where I received my B.A. in may 2013, and I write poetry/fiction from time to time. Teaching wise, I've been doing informal guitar lessons for over a year now; I also spent time in Shanghai as an Education Advisor, teaching creative non-fiction writing to Chinese high school students. I believe that when it comes to education, informative and fun need not be mutually exclusive. Inspiring a love of the subject at hand should come first, then when one has more motivation to dive in on their own, more formal instruction. As a teacher, I believe that there is no one size fits all method for teaching, be it guitar, sat or writing: therefore, I work with each of my students to find a method and style that works best for his/her needs.
