I have been teaching voice lessons for 15 years, and am a graduate of The Juilliard School, Louisiana State University, and am currently pursuing my doctorate degree from Stony Brook University. I have performed with The Metropolitan Opera since 2007, as well as with many regional opera companies, symphony orchestras, and concert festivals.
As your teacher, I will help you improve on the technical aspects of singing (such as breath control, voice "placement" and production, and stamina) as well as the practical aspects of singing (language, style, and audition preparation). Together we will clearly identify your goals as a singer, and work to achieve those goals.
Music is a universal language, and singing can be the most self-expressive form of music. As your teacher, we will explore the balance between fun and hard work, and find the most efficient and easy form of singing, to give you freedom and security in your vocal performing.
I have performed as a principal artist at the Met, as well as a member of the full-time Chorus there. I am performing onstage in roughly 150 performances per season.
