I am a professional composer and arranger. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor's of Music in Commercial Music Production and am pursuing my Master's at New York University in Scoring for Film and Multimedia.
I'm passionate about all things related to music theory, composition, and history. I believe that anyone can compose; they just need the music theory knowledge to know how to bring their ideas to life. Music theory doesn't have to be hard! I strive to make every lesson stress free and relevant to the student's interests.
As a professional composer, I've worked on numerous projects including short films and commercials. I've been playing piano since 2002 and cello since 2004. I've began theory and composition training in 2006 and have solidified my skills throughout my undergraduate education. I also studied songwriting and music production, and I am happy to help students who are interested in writing and producing their own songs.
I believe a solid foundation in music theory is essential to being a successful musician, whether you want to write pop songs or perform in concert halls. Classical music is easy once you learn it, and it will help you in ways you could never imagine. I'm excited to work with you and help you become the best musician you can be!
The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) is a membership association of more than 480,000 US composers, songwriters, lyricists and music publishers. The ASCAP is committed to nurturing music makers throughout their careers.
"If it wasn't for Jennifer - brilliant composer, beautiful arranger, bright person - I would not have gained the necessary knowledge in orchestration and thus, would not have been able to compose and score two symphonies for orchestra. Jennifer is a passionate and charismatic individual who lives and breathes music; someone with such a vast wealth of knowledge of her craft and the art of orchestration and theory in particular. I am grateful for Jennifer's patience, kindness, and God-given musical gift, as well as her guidance gifted to me as a composer myself."+ Read More
