I have been playing music since I was 7. I am the founder, lead singer, and songwriter of the band Vita and the Woolf. With my band, i've become an internationally touring musician with experience in performance, vocal training, songwriting, ear training, audio production, and basic music theory. My band has gone on tour with Rasputina, Bell X1, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and Yoke Lore. We have played notable festivals such as SXSW, Firefly, Xponential, and Reeperbahn (Hamburg Germany).
I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Media Studies and Production. My teaching experience began while working as the music teacher at a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities called SpArc Services in Philadelphia. I taught private piano, voice and guitar students through a studio called Philly Music Lessons for 2+ years. I also was the music teacher for the Lansdowne Presbyterian Pre-School in Pennsylvania.
6 months ago I signed a publishing deal with Schubert Music and am a songwriter working on their team. I recently moved to Los Angeles from Philadelphia, and am excited to begin my teaching career here on the west coast! I teach my students out of my comfortable home/studio in Van Nuys, but can teach online and travel to you. The regular styles I teach are: Pop, rock, RnB, improvisational piano, classical voice/piano.
I am the founder of the synth/pop band, Vita and the Woolf. We are a three piece band originally based out of Philadelphia. SpArc Services is a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I taught music lessons in groups and privately to adults with a wide range of abilities.
Philly Music Lessons is a music studio based in, you guessed it, Philadelphia. I taught private piano, guitar, and voice lessons to kids and adults.
I held weekly music classes teaching children ages 1-5. We would work on memorizing songs, basic rhythm patterns, basic music theory, and practicing with auxiliary percussion.
Jen is the best teacher ever! She encouraged me to develop my own style, and helped me to push my voice in new directions. Working on improv was so much fun! I loved how she would work with me on a range of different styles and listened to the pace I wanted to take. Her voice is chillingly beautiful, and she clearly has the technical and music theory knowledge to help any level of student. She was and is such an inspiration! She encouraged me to connect with new musicians and now I’m starting my own band :)+ Read More
Jennifer was my son's piano teacher for over 2 years. She started working with my son when he was 7 and I could have not asked for a better teacher for him. She interacted with him exceptionally well and my son simply adored her. Jennifer has a natural talent in teaching especially due to seeing how much my son has excelled with his piano skills over the years. He was well prepared and rocked all of his recitals due to Jennifer's dedication to him. She was always on time and showed up when expected. I would highly recommend Jennifer as a teacher to all. She is super friendly and has a welcoming demeanor about her. I would definitely rate her one of the best instructors ever!+ Read More
I studied piano with Jen for two years. During that time, Jen was really flexible and did a great job catering lessons to my music interests!
Wonderful piano teacher. Very patient and accommodating to my daughters needs. Taught my daughter so much about learning to play and read music
