I am a Certified Life Coach, specializing in emotional wellness. I use the principles of mindfulness meditation to change emotional state. It is when we are equipped with the necessary mindset, that we can access positive thinking. There are times when positive thinking and affirmations simply don't work. This happens when our emotional toolkit does not support feeling good, for whatever the reason. We may even try to restructure and/or change our belief systems, still finding no changes in how we feel.
Mindfulness training uses the power of observation as a prequel to the process of positive thinking. As a form of meditation, it stops us from forcing new beliefs or changing existing beliefs. It doesn't involve digging for the source of unhappiness or lack of satisfaction. It is a process of taking "what is," and working with and around it.
When we master mindfulness, we are giving our mind the opportunity to self-regulate, and to enjoy greater happiness and success.
