I am an elementary and piano teacher and I love to pass my passion for the things that I love on to my students. I am currently certified to teach K-6 elementary education and K-12 music in the states of Iowa and Florida. I also have an endorsement in reading and gifted education. I am qualified to help struggling students as well as those who have been identified as gifted. I have taught in 3rd and 4th grade classrooms in Florida public schools for 6 years. 3rd grade is a foundational year for reading and I have experience preparing students for standardized state testing as well as teaching them skills to be successful readers beyond testing. I started taking piano lessons at the age of 8. I continued taking lessons through college as I pursued an endorsement in music for educators. During college, I also started teaching piano lessons and I have been doing that ever since. In 2008, I began working for a company in Tampa, Florida called Piano Lessons in Your Home. I taught for that company for 6 years and they gave me the opportunity to work with a variety of students from 3 years old through adult and from beginners through advanced students. I also took piano pedagogy classes which allowed me to learn strategies and techniques as a piano teacher that I still use to help my students build a good foundation in piano and music as they advance to become well-rounded musicians who can play the styles of music they love.
