English (ESL) with Jennifer G.

I am Jennifer a Morgan State University alumni with a Bachelor's in Social Work and I am currently pursuing my Masters at Howard University in Social Work. I've been a Family Advocate at Kennedy Krieger Institute for families that live in East Baltimore. My duties here are to help Latin American families cope with stressful situations, parent and child activities for ages 1 to 13 years of age, and teach ESL classes to the parents at our center. My strengths include my eagerness to learn, being able to accept patients for who they have a non-judgmental attitude, and being culturally competent. By having empathy and understanding of other people feel. I also believe that I can also bring my language skills of being bilingual to the field of social work and helping individuals learn how to speak, read, and understand Spanish. My desire is to make a difference in the lives of others. Not only make a difference in the lives of others but also give back to the community, by teaching individuals the importance that social working does to the world. By embracing my sensitivity attitude, I learned more than what I expected. I learned that because of my love for people, care, and genuine interest I will be good and fitting as an instructor and social worker.
