I'm a singer and songwriter with a BA in Music Ed and I teach in Astoria, Queens. I love teaching children and adults and helping them explore their talents. I teach lessons in voice (singing), guitar, piano and songwriting. The age range for my current student roster is 6 years to 65 years of age but I'm open to all ages. Studying music can be beneficial at any time in a persons life and is a wonderful form of expression. Some students come to me for audition preparation for high school or college. Some come because they've always wanted to learn how to sing better at karaoke. Others want to play guitar or piano for family functions or want to write a song but aren't sure where to start. Some want to pursue a career in theater and the arts.
From the very first lesson, I gear the music towards each student's specific goals and preferences. From pop music, to jazz standards, to Broadway show tunes and classical arias, the lesson is tailored to the student's interests and desires. I spend some time in each lesson focusing on technique and proper warm-ups. I also ask lot's of questions to find out what the student is having challenges with in particular. Lessons range from 30, 45 and 60 minutes.
