- Teaches students:
- Ages 15+
- Teaching since:
I'm a former fashion student who loves sewing costumes! I have over 2 decades of sewing experience - it's a hobby that runs in the family. I received professional training in apparel design and construction at Kent State University. I have created everything from simple bags and pillows to formal gowns and corsets.
I have experience teaching college age individuals how to sew, and have facilitated seminars for which I also designed the curriculum. Those experiences have prepared me to develop sessions tailored to individual needs - I'm happy to provide basic sewing training for beginners, or work with someone over multiple sessions to develop more advanced sewing skills.
Some things you could expect to learn:
- basic hand stitching
- how to set up a sewing machine
- basic sewing machine maintenance
- basic machine sewing
- advanced machine sewing
- which tools to use for your project
- how to install a zipper
- creating apparel from patterns
- and much more!
Definitely contact me if you have questions. I'd love to work with you to create an experience that suits your needs!
