Flute with Jen J.

I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors of Music Education. I have studied the flute for fourteen years and have taught private lessons for more than ten years. In high school and college I was exposed to a wide variety of genres, having performed in pit orchestras, competitive marching band, concert bands, honor bands, all-district bands, summer camps, Central Illinois Youth Symphony, full orchestra, pep band, solo competitions, and more. Among auditioned groups, I consistently achieved principal placements. I have taken and taught private lessons and have an extensive volunteer history with my hometown junior high school band, in addition to the hundreds of hours of clinical hours completed as a part of my coursework. I also have lots of experience as a marching band technician, as I have worked plenty of summer band camps and fall rehearsals over the years. I annually attend workshops and conferences, such as the Illinois Music Educator's Conference, Band's of America's Summer Symposium, Band's of America's Future Music Educators Events, Midwest International Band and Orchestra Conference, Bands of America Regional and Grand National Championships, and Drum Corps International World Championship Finals. I work with flute students in a wide age range and assorted skill levels with a variety of musical goals.
