Intro*** Hi, My name is Jeff Keefer, I've enjoyed Teaching Guitar, Bass Guitar & Piano to 100's of students, Male & Female (Ages 13 & Up)..for over 20 years. Experience in both , Teaching, and Performing, along with plenty of patience and enthusiasm, I feel makes me an ideal Teaching Candidate!!! Student Requirements*** I would expect my guitar students to own(or have) their own instrument. If upon inspection I see it's unplayable, I would try and recommend necessary repairs,etc. (same applies for bass students..and piano(especially the tuning..if not electric). .I would want all my students to have a spiral notebook. I MAY suggest method books,etc.during the course of lessons, when appropriate, but in most cases Students will receive handouts of any Curriculum. *** Specialties *** I teach popular Contemporary styles(Rock, Country, Folk, Pop&Ballads, Jazz).. My method, though flexible, tends to lean towards accompaniment. Learning to play their instrument along w/ their favorite song, w/ their own singing(or someone else)..or playing at some point w/ other musicians. So to me it's about "SONGS". Learning the songs they like ,they in turn are learning a better understanding of their instrument. ..A better understanding of their instrument, and they can attempt a wider range of song material. It's one big circle, and I instill this to all my students, one way or another. **My Piano Method Is Ideal for Adults w/No Sightreading ability...it's Chord Based ..and Ideal for Contemporary Styles(Pop, Rock & Ballads).
