I am a 27 year practicing professional musician, songwriter, arranger, and music educator. Music is my passion. I currently teach guitar, piano, and organ, and serve as minister of music and staff musician for two Chicago area church congregations. I have played guitar and keyboards for local bands, and am well versed with a variety of musical styles. *** Lesson Details *** I specifically tailor my lessons for each student....I do not use a "cookie cutter" lesson style. To achieve the best lesson approach for the most positive student outcome, I conduct a student assessment during the first lesson (first lessons are free for a limited time) to determine student skills, goals, and objectives. After the assessment, I structure a comprehensive, contemporary lesson plan that includes fundamentals, technique, theory, and songs relative to the lesson in a fun and productive manner that engages the student and promotes his/her creativity. *** Studio Equipment *** Acoustic piano (A 440), Yamaha Digital Piano, Hammond X-C3 organ, 6 string acoustic guitar, 6 string classical guitar *** Travel Equipment *** My expectation would be that all students I visit in home would have an acoustic piano properly tuned, or a digital piano or keyboard with 88 weighted keys. Guitar students should have a 6 string, acoustic or electric guitar (with an amplifier).
