Music Theory with Jean-Luc P.

My name is Jean-Luc and I am both French and American, raised in California. I am a professional singer-songwriter. I am the lead singer in my band and we perform at venues throughout Los Angeles, including "The Mint"! I sing, write, and play keyboards. I have been working professionally since the age of fifteen as a jazz singer in restaurants and I have taught voice, piano, and songwriting for three years now. I have a Bachelors of Music in Commercial Voice from California State University Los Angeles. I am very much in tune with the creative side of music and I encourage my students to embrace their uniquity and grow, with my help, into confident artists of their own! The human voice is such a delicate but powerful instrument and when you learn how to use it to your advantage, it can affect people in a way that no other instrument can. In my lessons we work technique, learn old and new material, and even focus some energy on creating original material if the student should desire to do so. The techniques that we learn can be directly applied to any style of music that we choose to sing in our lessons. Lessons with me are comfortable, fun, and effective. Students make leaps and bounds in their musicality and their confidence. I cannot wait to help you achieve your best musical self!
