Being a Mexican American who was born and raised in Texas I picked up the Language from my family at home. My grandparents knew the importance of knowing different languages and the benefits associated with being bilingual. My goal will be to teach you Spanish to my best ability.  The way I speak Spanish may seem different to the text book style you’re used to seeing in school. Text book Spanish is not quite the same as a Hispanic would speak it. Hopefully I’ll be able to make learning Spanish fun by playing Lotería (Mexican Bingo) or by drawing pictures for you. Maybe I can cook you some authentic Tex Mex?♡

My name is Jazmine I’m from Dallas Texas.
When I first learned Spanish I could only understand it, but I couldn’t speak it so well. I started to feel embarrassed that I couldn’t speak it as well as I could understand people’s conversations.  After my grandma taught me how to speak it and talking to different Hispanics from different cultures I finally learned. So In High School I took American Sign Language 1-3 just so I would know 3 different Languages. It feels wonderful  being able to understand 3 different cultures and to be a part of 3 different communities.
