I have been studying music and playing guitar and bass for 24 years. I have worked with Grammy-award-winning songwriters for Sony as an engineer, and wrote, recorded and released more than 6 albums. All that aside, I knew nothing about music until I met Alex Sioris and discovered Echometry. With shapes, colors and simple patterns, music is made simple at all levels. I am a laid back instructor and will always meet you at the level you are at. I remember how hard it was to start playing guitar. I remember all the hurdles. I have learned a lot of tricks and I know that it will not take you as long to learn the things it has taken me 24 years to discover. I am a super positive and patient instructor. I have worked with students from ages 5 to 60 and can customize each lesson to your desire. I can also advise you on your studio setup and how to get the most for your money. As an engineer that has worked for sony, I know the top of the line equipment. As a starving musician, I know how to get the most for your money. *** Lesson Details *** I am offering guitar, bass, songwriting and recording lessons. All lessons are customized to meet your needs. Wherever you are at as a musician, I can take you to the next level. I teach from the foundations of Echometry. Echometry is the answer to traditional music theory. Music is math. Any music instructor will tell you that. And yet, they can not give you, in clear mathematical form, the answers to music because they use letters. Traditional music theory uses 7 letters and a confusing number of sharps and flats to represent 12 notes. Echometry uses 12 numbers to represent 12 notes. Traditional music theory is like trying to read a cookie recipe on a crumpled up piece of paper without straightening it out first. Echometry is like reading the original tollhouse recipe. Why does everyone feel the same thing when you play a major, minor, or diminished chord? Echometry tells us why. I can help you clear your musical confusion, free yourself from the bonds of traditional music theory and give you the foundation you need to play and write anything you want. *** Studio Equipment *** I have a fully functioning virtual studio with some out board gear. I have amps, a guitar, and a bass. Guitar and bass students must provide their own instrument. Recording students should have a DAW at home. *** Travel Equipment *** I have a fully functioning virtual studio with some out board gear. I have amps, a guitar, and a bass. Guitar and bass students must provide their own instrument. Recording students should have a DAW at home. *** Specialties *** I specialize in Echometry. My background is blues, rock and alternative based.
